Holiday Cards Series 2016 #2 – Christmas couple – DT card

Hello everyone and welcome to my second post for today!

I am on the Sasayaki Glitter challenge blog today to showcase this beautiful image called Christmas couple.
You can find many more images on the Sasayaki Glitter Store.

I love to create Christmas cards using non traditional colors. And the Blue color is very special for us Greeks. It reminds us of our summer with the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea. And of course our flag is white and blue. Many decades ago in Greece, people were decorating their houses with boats, more like the Greek style fishing boats, which are usually colored in blue. And lots of multicolored lights.
In some islands they are still decorating the ports with big fishing boats and lights instead of Christmas trees.
So when I saw this image, it inspired me to color it with blue colors and the string of lights made me think of the ones that were decorating the fishing boats. And since I love doodling around my CAS cards I thought why not make the string go around the couple.

This is a One Layer card and colored with alcohol markers.
The sentiment is written by me and I also immediately thought of it when I saw the image.
I added glitter crystal stickles on the white parts of the hat and on all the lights.

So there is my card for today,
I enjoyed creating it so much and I hope you like it!
Thank you for visiting,
xoxo Olga
