Nautical Design Team card

 Hello Everyone!

Today I made my Design Team shaker card with My Besties Img396 image from Sherri Baldy Designs.

We have our challenge at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog that runs for the second week and is “Anything goes – Option Shaped card”.
Come join the fun and play with us, you can participate with any image you want, and we have some great prizes for the winners!

So this time the challenge is about shaped cards and I thought I would make a nautical themed round card that would remind me of a window on a boat.
Since it is summer here in the North hemisphere and I am Greek, I went for it.
All the shells you see in the pictures are real ones that I have found in different beaches on different islands in Greece.
The sand and the small shells that are in the bottle were actually found one winter day at a beach when we were still living in Greece with my husband 9 years ago. And we collected so many of them that day that we had enough to create 30 bottles like this one and give it with some candy the day of our wedding to our family.
I love shells and this is just a small portion of my collection.

I printed my image on Neenah solar white card stock, colored it with my alcohol markers and fussy cut it.
I used my white signo gel pen to do the accents and highlights.
I created a round shaker card and filled it with blue star sequins.
Around the window I used red and white twine.
The background on the inside of the shaker I created using a stencil, “salty ocean” distress ink and texture paste from Ranger.
To finish the card I adhered the image with some foam tape.

So there is my card for today,

I had so much fun creating it and I hope you like it!
Thank you for visiting!
xoxo Olga

  1. Your nautical design is beautiful, Olga! I love the pretty colors, and a lovely design – not to mention your adorable little mermaid. Like you, I have an extensive shell collection, and treasure the beauties I have found myself, as well as those found by my grandfather, or purchased during travels. There is something magical about them, don't you think? And now for my other reason for visiting…

Thank-you for joining us at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge “Anything Goes”. I hope you have enjoyed playing along as much as we have enjoyed seeing your talent. Please check back to see if you are a winner!

You've collected a lot of shells – what a great wedding favour you gave out! P.S. Did you see… you won over at Crafting with Cotnob (Pauline)! Congratulations!
