DT card with a My Besties image for the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog

Hello everyone!
I would like to welcome my newest follower Linda Simpson from Linda’s crafty piece of heaven.  Please visit her blog, she is wonderful and very inspiring!! Thank you so much Linda for joining me!

So today I have a card made with a My Besties image 689 from Sherri Baldy.
We have a challenge at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog that runs for the second week and is “Anything goes – add 3 of something”. You can use any image you want.
Come join and play with us as we have some great prizes for the winners!

Have you ever had an image that speaks to you on how to color her and put her on a card?
Well it happens to me regularly! and it happened also this time! I printed many times this image on watercolor paper, on different sizes because I couldn’t decide how big or small I wanted to have it.

I started (as I usually do) to test different colors and mediums and although I colored my image in different sizes 3 times, my eyes and my mind was always drawn back to this one where at some point I was testing my distress inks to figure out what color to use for the topping of the doughnut.
And I fell in love with the background around her, and the little fairy looked at me so happy as she was saying “Yes please! use me!” and so I did! LOL I know it sounds crazy but that is how my mind works!
So in the end she is a messy eater this little fairy! I really love her!

I used distress inks on the doughnut and Inktense pencils on the little fairy, clear wink of stella on the doughnut and the dress, clear glitter on the wings and the doughnut, green glitter on the doughnut and gold glitter on the bottom of the dress.
I added different sizes of glittered enamel dots on the bows and flowers, and with my white gel pen added dots on her hair and bows.

I  matted the image with purple card stock, I used yellow patterned paper with white shimmery dots behind the image and the sentiment, which I stamped in clear versafine ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I also added some white dots with my white gel pen. On each side of the sentiment I added 3 purple shiny flowers and 3 small diamonds.

So there is my card for today.
I really enjoyed making it and I hope you like it!
Thank you for visiting,
Olga
