Coloring Skin

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today I am sharing with you a card that I created for the coloring challenge over at Make it Crafty. And this month the theme is “Coloring Skin”.

I want to get better in coloring skin with my pencils and I will have a couple of cards for this month’s challenge. This one is the first one so feel free to subscribe to my blog if you want to see more of my cards. How do you feel about coloring skin? do you have some specific tips you use? please tell me in the comments.

For this card I chose this lovely image called Marcy’s full of Love as well as one of the Make it Crafty chipboard’s called Delicate Ornate Oval frame.

I printed the image on Bristol smooth card stock and colored it with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. It took me around 3 hours to color this image that is around 8cm high. Coloring with pencils takes time because you have to work in layers and with a light touch in order to build those layers and to get a smooth result. And for very good results well sharpened pencils is helping a lot.
After I was finished with the coloring I fussy cut the image.

I painted the chibpoard frame with gold acrylic paint and added some gold glitter accents with a gel pen.

I used a Kraft card base and before adhering one of the pattern papers called Holiday Letters by We are 3 digital shop I used distress ink around the edges.

I then glued the oval frame on the card and on top I adhered with foam tape the image.

To finish the card I added some accents and dots with Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.

I had so much fun coloring this image and creating the card and I hope you like it.

You might want to pin the pictures on your board for later reference and inspiration.
